In July 2021, Waterbury Mutual Aid suspended direct food support because we could no longer access the free resources we had been distributing to the Food Support Network (FSN). FSN members have asked that we restart this project and we will try.
But we cannot do it like we did before. We don’t have the money and we don’t have the time. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
How you can help
We need to re-imagine how we deliver food support so we don’t rely on resources that are outside our control. This is what happened last year–the government stopped giving us the food we had been distributing and that’s why we had to suspend the project.
This project must be a lot more self-sufficient. And we need a lot more people who receive food support to help with the work. We have some ideas on how it might work, but we need to hear from you.
Waterbury Mutual Aid will hold a series of Zoom meetings in April and May 2022 to find a way to deliver food support in a secure and sustainable way. If you think you can help us restart food support, please attend these meetings.
Meeting schedule
Meetings are scheduled for alternating Thursdays at 7pm and alternating Saturdays at 10am. You only need to attend one of these meetings.
Scheduled meetings:
- Saturday, April 16, 10am –OR– Thursday, April 21, 7pm
- Saturday, April 30, 10am –OR– Thursday, May 5, 7pm

Apoyo alimentario
En julio de 2021, Waterbury Mutual Aid suspendió el apoyo alimentario directo porque ya no podíamos acceder a los recursos gratuitos que habíamos estado distribuyendo a Food Support Network (FSN). Los miembros de FSN han pedido que reiniciemos este proyecto y lo intentaremos.
Pero no podemos hacerlo como lo hacíamos antes. No tenemos el dinero y no tenemos el tiempo. ¡NECESITAMOS TU AYUDA!
Cómo puedes ayudar
Necesitamos volver a imaginar cómo brindamos apoyo alimentario para no depender de recursos que están fuera de nuestro control. Esto es lo que pasó el año pasado, el gobierno dejó de darnos la comida que veníamos distribuyendo y por eso tuvimos que suspender el proyecto.
Este proyecto debe ser mucho más autosuficiente. Y necesitamos mucha más gente que reciba apoyo alimentario para ayudar con el trabajo. Tenemos algunas ideas sobre cómo podría funcionar, pero necesitamos saber de usted.
Waterbury Mutual Aid llevará a cabo una serie de reuniones de Zoom en abril y mayo de 2022 para encontrar una manera de brindar apoyo alimentario de manera segura y sostenible. Si cree que puede ayudarnos a reiniciar el apoyo alimentario, asista a estas reuniones.
